Homeland Security Buys Snow Cone Machines

A Michigan regional agency of the US Department of Homeland Security purchased 11 snow cone machines for $11,700. A spokesperson explains:

“It is used to attract people so they can be educated and prepared for homeland security […] More importantly, they (homeland security officials) felt in a medical emergency the machine was capable of making ice packs which could be used for medical purposes.”
