Some of the themes in Iyomi’s (BFA 2022) work surround the self, personhood, theories on ego, being a creative Black woman, inter-personality, color theory, and life experiences. After graduating, Iyomi sees herself owning her own practice and possibly working in costume design.

Iyomi has played a vital role in creating a tighter community at SAIC by taking on a leadership position in the Black Student Union. In conversation with Iyomi,  she mentions she has learned many things at SAIC including how to advocate for herself, work towards being an interdisciplinary artist, and collaborate with others.
