Harvest season can be hard for a pumpkin-person in Alex Sensiba’s comic “Let’s Smash Pumpkins!”

Let’s Smash Pumpkins is a green and orange, riso-printed single page comic. Panel 1; A smiling pumpkin-headed-person. Panel 2; The pumpkin is startled by a crow landing on their shoulder. Panel 3; Two more crows join in on surrounding the pumpkin. Panel 4; a whole flock of crows crowds the pumpkin. Panel 5; The crows take off with the pumpkin’s head, knocking off their hat. The vine connecting the head to the body stretches thin… Panel 6; The vine snaps! Panel 7; The headless body of the pumpkin watches the flock carry away its head. Panels 8+9; The pumpkin-person rises quickly to chase the crows. Panel 10; the pumpkin-person walks through the woods, watched by even more crows. Panel 11; At the pumpkin-person’s feet, their smashed pumpkin-head sits. Panel 12; A close up of the pumpkin-head, smashed open in a grassy patch. Panel 13; The pumpkin-person reaches for a single pumpkin seed. Panels 14 through 19; The pumpkin-person drops the seed into the color of its coat and quickly, a large pumpkin sprouts Panel 20; The pumpkin person holds a knife Panel 21; In front of a mirror the pumpkin-person makes cuts at its own pumpkin-head… Panel 22; Revealing a smiling, new-faced jack-o-lantern smile!
