Anyone entrenched within the fashion industry is familiar with the international event that has become Fashion’s Night Out – an evening fete originated by US Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, held in New York.
The point of the event is to bring the industry’s top players into one locale, celebrating fashion with amazing shopping, meet and greets with designers, models and celebrities, and concerts, all combined into one big urban extravaganza. FNO was so popular that it spread overseas and to various other cities…including Chicago, which has instituted a FNO of our very own tomorrow night, September 10 – this year’s international date for Fashion’s Night Out.

Macy’s, Vogue and the CFDA have teamed up to help promote local retailers and stimulate the economy at Chicago’s first ever Fashion’s Night Out! Join us at Macy’s on State Street for an unprecedented shopping experience full of fun, festivities and most importantly, fashion!
10TH ANNUAL DISTINCTION IN DESIGN COMPETITION – 1st Floor – 10AM to 2PM
Start the day off fashionably as Macy’s presents the 10th annual Distinction in Design Competition. Beginning at 10AM, all Chicago area designers are invited to present samples/sketches to a panel of Macy’s top industry insiders and gain valuable insight. At 10 p.m. the Macy’s buyers/merchants/fashion office team will announce a Best-of-Show awarded with a $1000.00 cash prize and a Runner-Up awarded with a $500.00 cash prize.
FASHION’S NIGHT OUT AT MACY’S SHOPPING PARTY – 1st through 4th Floors – 6 to 11PM
Start the night off by welcoming Vicki Gunvalson, of The Real Housewives of Orange County, for the season’s biggest shopping party. Receive a signed copy of Vicki Gunvalson’s best-seller, More Than a Housewife with any purchase of $75 or more. Shop with Macy’s very own local Chicago Designers as they show you what is hot for fall. Enjoy sips, sweets and tunes as our models show the season’s hottest looks. Jump into the photo booth with your friends for a keepsake photo from the night. Get your sample of GUCCI GUILTY and experience the interactive GUCCI GUILTY booth. Shop and receive special gifts with purchases from Joe’s Jeans, Carlos Santana, Franco Sarto, Via Spiga, Michael Michael Kors and more.
