Art Basel Miami is booming, with nearly 180 galleries from around the world populating the Miami Beach Convention Center. The fair attracts nearly 40,000 visitors over its four-day run, including museum groups, curators, critics, collectors and art tourists. The hoopla created by the fair is legendary.

The addition to the museum’s northwest corner, designed by architect Renzo Piano, will add 264,000 square feet of new space. Since the project is scheduled for completion in 2009, many students who read this will have graduated before the building is completed.

The show Photon Flow at Columbia’s Glass Curtain Gallery included works from University Film and Video Association (UFVA) artists and students. The entries were all New Media, including several interactive videos, installations, computer programs and navigable CG (Computer-Generated) environments.
