On March 30th, 2023, at the front steps of the Art Institute of Chicago, AICWU organized a union speak-out that gathered together hundreds within the art community. Speakers included Briana Shucart, Sheila Majumdar, Kristi McGuire, Helen Thornton, Myia Brown and Herb Metzler. They describe the uphill battle of dealing with museum management delaying proposed contracts to improve workers’ rights.
