“April 2001, John Walker Lindh, a U.S. citizen who converted to Islam, traveled to Afghanistan to join the then U.S. supported Taliban. After the September 11th attacks, John was captured, tortured and has been imprisoned by the U.S. ever since. With the groundless charges and no evidence, John was found innocent of all involvement in the 9/11 terror attacks or of any allegiance to terrorism by the U.S. district court. His sentence was reduced from life to twenty years in exchange that he relinquishes his claims of torture against the U.S. government.”
