The Awakening

Perhaps abstraction wasn’t so bad!

Transcript:

Panel 1: A white cat with neutral eyes loafed comfortably in a gray and white void.

Panel 2: The cat’s shape begins condensing and simplifying. It looks blob-like.

Panel 3: The cat is blob-ifying even more, shrinking in size. The space around it goes darker.

Panel 4: The cat is nothing but a small circle, no features visible.

Panel 5: Suddenly, the circle-that-was-a-cat explodes into jagged shapes like a firecracker or a starburst. It’s vaguely cat-shaped, and the cat’s eyes are wide with shock.

Panel 6: The jagged cat-shape floats about in space, expanding in size.

Panel 7: The jagged cat-shape drifts about, now on the bottom-left corner of the panel.

Panel 8: The jagged cat-shape is almost big enough to take over the entire panel. Its eyes are firmly in the center.

Panel 9: The shape has become so large, it encompasses all. The panel is white, save for a pair of those familiar eyes.

Panel 10: The eyes close happily. Perhaps abstraction wasn’t so bad!
