Page 1:
We see a crumpled, ripped, beige piece of paper with a red string attached on both ends.
At the end of the string, there is text: “One day she found a note with a string attached.”
On the paper we read, “Follow me to the ends of the earth.” Our eyes follow to other ends of the string to where it states that “She followed.”
Our eyes follow the string as it continues to the next page
Page 2:
The string now weaves its way through a scene of mountains and forest.
The top of the page shows a light flowing down onto the mountaintops.
In this light the text states, “Climbed the highest mountain tops.”
Within the mountains it continues, “High enough to touch the hand of god.”
Page 3:
The string is carried past the mountains now into a rough sea, and disappears into the top of the paper and inside the waves of the ocean.
The waves are choppy, as if the storm of waves could wipe out anything in its path. Peeking out from behind the waves, is once again a glowing sun. In the sky the narration tells us that the girl,
“Swam the greatest seas, Nearly swallowed by the waves”
Within the waves the text says, “Still, she continued.”
Page 4:
The string continues to reveal a scene of a burning fire.
Consuming a forest of trees, the fire’s smoke travels around the entire page and surrounds the text. It reads, “That’s when the fire started.”
The string disappears from the corner of the page.
Page 5:
The string appears again from out of the corner and weaves up and back down to border off a light flowing down from the heavens, onto text that states “Burning from all corners of the earth.”
Following down the middle of the page, the narration continues, “An undying flame consuming all in its path. She continued.”
On the sides of the page surrounding the text are two large mountains. At the bottom of the page the fire continues burning trees, and is followed up the page, bleeding into and consuming the mountains.
Page 6:
The string from the top of the prior page continues onto this page, but this time the fire has reached the top of the page, where the godlike light used to be.
Under this is the text, “The world was left deserted. Still, she continued.”
On the sides of the page are dead tree branches, indicating that the fire has destroyed nature.
Along the bottom of the page following up to the middle is a deserted path of dry rocks, showing the emptiness of the world.
Page 7:
The string is once again followed onto the next page, but this time ends as it touches a puddle of water in the lower middle half of the page.
Above the water is the text, “Until one day, amidst the flame, was a puddle.”
Surrounding the puddle are the same dry rocks seen previously.
The fires are still flaming from all corners of the page, starting from the bottom and becoming smoke as they reach their way up.
Page 8:
On the final page the string is nowhere to be found.
Instead, all that is seen are two hands reaching toward one another.
The background of the hands is a flowing mix of blue and white, indicating that they have found one another within the water.
On the right side of the hands is the text, “She drank and was satisfied. Holding out her hand, she felt the warm pull. “I’ve found you.”
