Israa Darwich’s video essay about her grandfather’s story who is from South Lebanon documents his memories of the village he grew up in, referred to as, “heaven on earth”. Darwich was inspired to carefully keep the stories she’d heard of his life and his refuge from war. This video essay is an ode or a love letter to Bint Jbeil, Lebanon, and to the contagious admiration her grandfather has for his home.
