Page 1 of a two-page digitally illustrated comic strip. Each page has 6 square panels, arranged in a 3 by 2 grid. The comic is drawn with thin black lines and colored using a light pink and a mint green. The first panel has the comic’s title: “Long Live Beatle Mania,” In a blocky all-caps font that takes up the right side of the panel, and on the left side is a strawberry milkshake in a tall diner milkshake glass, with a cherry on top of whipped cream, and striped straw sticking out. The second panel shows two characters, one a green alien with a pink bow in her hair and a shirt that says “sparkle on.” Her name is Milkshake. She holds onto her backpack straps and listens to her friend next to her, who wears a t-shirt and shorts and has long, brown frizzy hair pulled into a ponytail. Her name is Julia. Julia is bent over digging around in her backpack and says “hey, look what I got.” In the third panel, Julia holds out what was in her backpack, saying “tickets to your favorite band!” It is a close up and the tickets say “the Beatles Tribute Band,” with the words “tribute band” crossed out. The date on the tickets is April 1. Julia’s thumb also has mint green nail polish that is almost fully chipped away. In the fourth panel, Julia smirks mischievously as she holds out the tickets, her thought bubble reading “heh. She doesn’t even know that half the Beatles are dead.” In the fifth panel, Milkshake throws her arms around Julia in a big hug, squishing her cheek up against Julia’s. Julia stays in the embrace awkwardly keeping her arms down by her sides. Milkshake smiles widely and says “you’re the best friend ever!” Julia blushes but has a concerned frown on her face. The sixth panel is a closer shot of Julia’s face as she hugs Milkshake back. She looks panicked as she realizes in her thought bubble: “oh my god I’m gonna have to tell her half the Beatles are dead”
Page 2 of Long Live Beatle Mania. The first panel is of Milkshake and Julia standing at the stage barricade at the concert. Milkshake, with tears in her eyes, yells “I LOVE YOU PAUL!!!” She is wearing a Beatles t-shirt, and Julia stands beside her uncomfortably. A stranger standing on Milkshake’s other side looks at her with an annoyed expression. The second panel shows Milkshake shaking hands with one of the band members, who is facing away but has long brown hair in a ponytail. He is sitting at a merch table with merch reading “cover band.” He shakes Milkshake’s hand uncomfortably as she trembles and her eyes tear up, stuttering out “J-J-J-John…” The next panel shows Milkshake and Julia sitting at a booth in a diner after the concert, Milkshake elatedly raving about the performance: “that was SO COOL I can’t believe we got barricade and the tickets were SO cheap AND I got to meet the REAL JOHN LENNON even though he looks a little different IRL and when they played Hey Jude I cried I mean I cried for all the songs, I wonder when they’re gonna release new stuff I mean–” Milkshake continues going on and on, her speech bubble eventually getting obscured by the two characters’ figures. Julia scratches her face nervously and looks away, saying “about that…” The text above the 4th panel reads “40 minutes later.” Milkshake’s face is pressed flat into the diner table, her arms flung across it as she sniffled in a pool of her tears. There are three empty milkshake glasses scattered across the table. Julia pats Milkshake’s back and says “I’m sorry…” A concerned and sympathetic look on her face. In the fifth panel, Milkshake looks up, her face a snotty tearful mess from crying, her eyes wet with tears, but she has a slightly hopeful expression as she says “It’s ok, I mean at least I’ve still got One Direction, right?” In the final panel, Julia looks away, scratching the back of her head nervously, and says “uhhh…”
