Transcript:
Panel 1: People shop around a grocery store. Head on from the viewer is a section with large letters above reading “MEAT.” There are speech bubbles leading off the screen, the first one says:
“What are we watching?”
“Some documentary, should be gud bckg noise!”
“Oh ok!”
Caption reads: “Food is no longer made with love, it’s manufactured, designed and engineered to feed the average American, who eats roughly 224 pounds of meat per year.”
Panel 2: Farmer silhouette with hat and pitchfork looks out at his barn. Once again there are speech bubbles on top of the image:
“Dude, did u hear abt Marg!?”
“No! What happened?”
The caption reads: “You’re sold this image of the hardworking farmer taking care of all their animals and crops.”
Panel 3: Pigs hang from the ceiling as silhouette workers move around them, depicting a slaughterhouse. Speech bubbles read:
“Well apparently Milly cheated on Marg! Like fr”
“R u fuckin’ kidding! They were so cute!”
Caption reads: “In reality, your food is cut and treated by undocumented workers – who are chased and prosecuted while these companies abuse their unregulated work.”
Panel 4: Hundreds of cows stand in manure and gunk, crowded together. One cow in the center looks in the viewer’s direction. Speech bubbles read:
“I know! I guess Milly got bored…”
“Y’know I did see Milly at the club the other night…do you think they cheated that night?”
Caption reads: “The Animals are treated just as poorly. Shoved together in small enclosures, engineered to produce more. Cows are left in ankle-deep manure, forced to eat corn, instead of their natural diet of grass.”
Panel 5: Cows feed on grain, cows behind them poking their heads up to get closer in their confined space. Speech bubbles read:
“Maybe.”“Hmm…”
Caption reads: “The corn fattens them, but it also alters the natural bacteria in their stomach, mutating into a fatal e-coli. And instead of reverting to grass, they medicate them.”
Panel 6: The panel is just black with speech bubbles reading:
“What?”
“IDK, it’s just… tragic”
Caption reads: “The meat industry will do anything to keep this all secret. Suing anyone who says anything negative. They even sued Oprah for $10 Million.
Panel 7: Full white panel, no speech bubbles. Caption reads: “And no-one is willing to stop them, even the FDA. Because they’re everywhere including the government. YOU must fight back.”
