Crisis Line Affirmations

You did great

Transcript:

Panel One: The panel depicts the character sitting on a chair with their computer and phone on the desk, just about to connect to the crisis line to take on a call. The desk is painted in pink, and is positioned in front of the large window depicting the blue sky and yellow stars. It reads, “I work at a crisis line, and the least I can say is that it’s nervewracking.”

Panel Two: Panel two pictures their phone ringing, written as “Dring, Dring, Dring,” and shows the incoming crisis line call. A speech bubble zooms onto the phone screen, showing the buttons the person has to press on to either accept or decline the call. They say “I take a deep breath every time I get a call. This helps me clear my mind.”

Panel Three: This panel reads “Sometimes when callers ask for referrals, I need to end the call to look more into the resources I can offer,” and “Knowing that I will be dedicating my next couple of minutes to that one person makes me feel proud of myself.” There is a speech bubble conversation included which is taking place between the caller and the responder, saying “Is this a safe # to call you back? I want to research resources more in depth to best help you” and “No, use this # instead: XXX-XXX-XXXX.”

Panel Four: The final panel writes “And if I ever doubt my abilities and worry about the things I could have done better, I remind myself that I am already doing my best and that I will get better with time as I practice more.” The bottom of the panel visualizes the character giving themselves a pat on the back, and saying the affirmation, “You did great,” to themselves.
