Our Background |
F Newsmagazine is the award-winning student newspaper at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). In each issue, SAIC writers and designers tackle issues of art, politics, art, culture, art, education and of course, art. Can you tell we’re not your average school paper?Recently, we’ve covered the Whitney Biennial and the Stray Show, discussed Damien Hirst and the legacy of Francis Bacon, taken a close look at our national identity and pondered our lives as art school students. We also carry comics, reviews, curator’s picks and of course, the F Question and Mouth Off. In addition, you can explore F’s online presence, which features each monthly print edition of F, plus additional web-exclusive F stories and the F News Blog. As part of our effort to expand our community, we now also have a new division dedicated to high school artists, Fzine at www.fzine.com. So visit our site, or pick up a print copy: each month, 12,000 copies are distributed free at colleges, cafés, bookstores, record stores, galleries and art supply stores at over 250 locations throughout Chicago. F Newsmagazine and Fzine are open to submissions from anyone in the school community. For our submission guidelines, please see the link to the right. |
