While serving as the Comics Editor for F Newsmagazine, Knisley’s 2006 installments of Stop Paying Attention in our Print Edition received the 1^st Place Award in Cartoon Strip from the Illinois College Press Association. In the same year, she was a finalist for the for the Charles M. Schulz College Cartooning Award.

Since receiving her BFA from SAIC and MFA from The Center for Cartoon Studies, Knisley has published works including French Milk, Make Yourself Happy, and Heart: Seed Snow Circuit.
