On Tuesday, January 25th an estimated 350 people gathered outside the Dirksen Federal Building on Dearborn Street to protest the recent subpoenas of 23 anti-war activists around the country, nine of which live in Chicago. The activists were ordered to appear before the grand jury on the day of the protest, but all nine activists denied to appear before the hearing on the grounds that the subpoenas are unmerited acts of political repression. Chicago was one of an estimated 50 cities that organized nationwide rallies on January 25th to protest the FBI and Grand Jury Repression of Anti-War and Solidarity Activists.
